What issues are most important to White Mountain Apaches?

Is it the war, health care, housing, public safety, or are there other issues of equal importance?

How important is the war as an issue on the Reservation?

    Pinetop Neighbor,

The war affects us all. American Indians have been fighting for this country before they could vote, and even before they became citizens. It is where we emerged into this world from, and we have been present in all the conflicts since World War I (and before) to fight for our country. The war has many of our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and friends. This “war” in both the middle east and on terror is one that affects us all, regardless of our location.

Whats Important to me is the drug problem we have on the reservation. Not only that but the alcoholism as well. There would be a whole list, but those 2 are the most important issues we need to address.

Hello Im not Native American. But i have become friends with some from the White Mountain Apache people who i love and respect.I am from Scotland.Im disgusted at the way the USA goverment treat the Natives. I am so angry about this because America belongs to you.The goverment have no right to deny the medical care and other needs of the tribes there. All i know is my friends work like crazy to save the wild life from hunters and get no help or thanks from the Usa.I care about them so much and when i talk with them i know they mean what they say and that they speak from the heart. I feel privilaged to know them. I hope its ok for me to leave this comment because the Scottish and natives have a lot in common we fought for our land and maybe thats why i feel so close with the natives.Im white but trust the natives more than any one else because i know they dont break no promises The stupid white man did Ty for sharing all this its just amazing ty
